Wafr Equipment
Under Development
Cold storage that charges on off-peak power and discharges into the chilled-water loop. No new electrical service, no chiller replacement.
Overview
The WTB Series stores cooling for use when it is needed later. The thermal battery uses storage medium to absorb and retain cooling, then releases that stored cooling back into a facility’s water loop on demand. In chiller-based systems, the battery can be charged during cooler nighttime hours, when chillers can operate more efficiently, and discharged during hotter or higher-demand periods. This allows cooling production to be shifted away from peak conditions, reducing daytime chiller load and peak electrical demand.
Different storage temperatures are available for applications ranging from conventional chilled-water and cold-storage systems to higher-temperature cooling loops, including data centres, commercial HVAC and industrial cooling. WTB units are designed for integration with new or existing cooling infrastructure.

Operating cycle: chiller charges the WTB off-peak (~8 h, the storage medium solidifies); the unit then holds charge with no compressor duty until peak hours, when the chiller stops and the stored cooling is released to serve the terminal load.
No increase to the site's electrical service capacity is required, and the existing chiller and machine head are retained.
WTB-2000 is a 2,000 kWh(th) containerized packaged unit for industrial and data-centre cooling; full parameters issued on request.
Figures are carried over from source equipment data and shall be re-verified against Wafr factory test reports before contractual use; Grade C18 values are provisional pending test-report confirmation.
